Richard was my baby brother. He was always considered the ‘black sheep’ of the family. Not sure why… he was a quite, loner, but very caring and lovable. He and his wife lived with me in Calif before leaving for V Nam. l still can’t accept he’s gone. We were very close but family didnt know that. l remember the night before he was shipping out; “l guess this is goodby . l probably won’t be coming back” he didn’t he was reported killed in ‘hostal’ fire in Quantree Provence July 4th, 1968.

The people whom I feel deserve the honoring would be the families of these heroes. My family: Melisa, T.J., Talan, and Natalie have fought a long battle here at home with me, and I honor them for their strength, courage, trust, and patience.
