Ronald Viola

Branch of Service: Marine Corps

Conflict: Other

Years of Service: 1955-1962

This man, Ron Viola, was the light of my life and so many others lives as well. He put the Lord, his family, and his Marine band of brothers at the top of his love list. Ron was always the first one to honor others who had fallen and let everyone know that the camaraderie that he gained in the Marine Corps surpassed no other. He felt so proud of his time served as a Marine and helped so many others during that service time & beyond because of it. He did not personally see “action” but did organize and got the helicopters loaded and ready for those who did. This was in the infancy of using helicopters in Vietnam. He turned down promotion after promotion because he wanted to stay and work with the men who needed him most. He always said the USMC was a life long commitment. Ron went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his fellow Marines in heaven on Feb. 6, 2012.
