SFC Grayson “Norris” Galatas
Branch of Service: National Guard
Conflict: Iraq War (2003-)
Years of Service: 1981-2009
My husband SFC Norris Galatas was injured in Iraq in 2005 when he drove his truck over a buried IED. After spending four years in Walter Reed Army Medical Center and undergoing 19 major surgeries, he is medically retired and lives at home with his service dog “Willie”, his dog Sable, his five horses and his wife. His story is published in a book entitled “A SOLDIER’S COURAGE” and is available at Amazon.com. This book is a celebration of the courage and professionalism of our men and women in uniform. They are heroes because they choose to wear the uniform so that we don’t have to. http://www.amazon.com/Soldiers-Courage-Janis-W-Galatas/dp/141967952X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1309492077&sr=1-1..
